Heavy Mineral Map of Australia (HMMA) Release Workshop

The joint Geoscience Australia-Curtin University Heavy Mineral Map of Australia (HMMA) is the world’s first project aiming to define a continental heavy mineral baseline. Utilising a novel workflow this project has generated a publicly available dataset of more than 100,000,000 mineral grain identifications across nearly 1,200 catchments across Australia; a unique resource for mineral explorers and researchers alike!

Join the geologists behind the HMMA to learn about the project, it’s outputs, select findings, related work, and a hands-on demonstration of the associated visualisation tool that makes this vast dataset easy to explore and interpret.

The capacity for in-person attendance at the workshop is limited so early registration is encouraged to reserve a seat; presentations will be hosted live online for those who cannot attend in person.
