GOLD24 Short Course: Mineral Exploration Management

GOLD24 Short Course: Mineral Exploration Management

By Nick Franey
Friday 25 to Saturday 26 October 2024 at The University Club of WA

The workshop will provide a framework of the entire mineral exploration business, covering both the technical and non-technical aspects of the business. Technical aspects include business development, discovery and evaluation, and data management; and non-technical aspects include HR, administration and finance, and the license to operate issues (health & safety, the environment, and community relations). A few general management principles will be discussed, as will several contentious issues that are a feature of mineral exploration nowadays, including sustainability, innovation, artisanal miners. An ongoing theme will be how an Exploration Manager should prioritise work. Time will be set aside for discussion of issues, as may be required. Nick’s book, Mineral Exploration Management is available to purchase separately. This will serve as a comprehensive set of workshop notes.
