AIG Vic: The King St Car Park landslide, Flinders

The King St Car Park landslide, Flinders

The Mornington Peninsula coastal town of Flinders has a long history of instability long its coast line. In 2021 this instability appeared again with a landslide in the popular surfing carpark of King St on the outskirts of town. Tonkin & Taylor were engaged by Parks Victoria to examine the landslide and provide advice to assist them in managing the landslide and reducing the risk to the public. The presentation will discuss the geology of Flinders, the history of landslides in the area, the features of the King St Landslide.
