- MULTIPLE opportunities!
Rio Tinto Coal Australia is one of Australia's leading mining organisations with a highly successful record in the development and management of world-class open cut and underground coal operations. In Queensland, Rio Tinto Coal Australia operates the Blair Athol, Hail Creek and Kestrel Mines and the Clermont Mine Project. In New South Wales, Rio Tinto Coal Australia manages Coal & Allied's operations at Mount Thorley Warkworth, Hunter Valley Operations and Bengalla.
RTCA has demonstrated it’s commitment to remaining an industry leader by creating a dedicated Growth and Projects team, based out of the Brisbane corporate office. Responsible for the assessment, evaluation and feasibility planning across Brownfield and Greenfield opportunities, this team will be at the forefront of Coal exploration and growth in eastern Australia.
We are seeking a team of professionals to start immediately, to be involved in: planning and managing drilling programmes; developing and interrogating geological models; reporting and presenting coal deposit knowledge; and providing technical support to operating sites. Opportunities for both senior and intermediate geologists are available, and will depend on both your technical knowledge and experience, and your ability to provide leadership and mentoring to junior staff.
Building on tertiary qualifications, you will have significant geological experience gained in a mining environment, desirably with coal resource evaluation and modelling skills. You will be an enthusiastic safety conscious professional and possess highly developed skills in communication and report writing.
