3D Geology Model-Building Plus Interpolation of Grade and Modelling of Potential Fields.
By Helen Gibson and Rod Paterson
All welcome - but ideally designed for exploration geologists and geophysicists with little previous geology experience and some knowledge of interpreting potential field data and economic grades. Participants require their own laptop computer and includes a 4 week evaluation licence for GeoModeller. Operating system: PC Windows. Please bring your own international power converter.
For further details refer to the latest update of the symposium brochure.
Helen has Masters and Honours qualifications from University of Melbourne majoring in geology. Following early work in gold exploration, she spent 12 years working for Geotrack International on commercial projects involving thermal and tectonic history reconstructions in petroleum terrains. Since 2004 she has worked for Intrepid Geophysics (Melbourne) as a Consulting Geologist, and in promoting GeoModeller software, including assisting the implementation of new software modules for geothermal & geophysical inversion. Helen has authored over 50 client reports, and published several regional studies including 3D geological & heat flow modelling of the north Perth Basin.
Rod is a multi-skilled geoscientist with 30 years' experience in mining and exploring for tin, base metals, gold and heavy mineral sands. He has a B.Sc in Geology and remote sensing, and a successful track record in ore resource/reserve estimation in a wide range of commodities. Rod specialises in the integration of multidisciplinary data in GIS and image processing environments as well as the processing of ground and airborne magnetic and radiometric and other remotely sensed data. He also has many years experience in software design and development.
