AIG and Your Privacy

A number of complaints have been received regarding unsolicited junk mail they have received by post, and to a lesser extent by email.

Please note that AIG does not provide access to its membership records or mailing lists by third parties under any circumstances.

AIG Education Foundation

We have been formally advised by the Australian Taxation Office that the AIG Education Foundation has been approved as a Deductible Gift Recipient and a Charitable Fund, effective as from May 2008.

Gifts to the foundation will be used to fund AIG's student bursary scheme and other education initiatives, including AIG's membership of TESEP which is developing curriculum materials and providing geoscience training for high school teachers in order to help ensure students are exposed to geosciences before reaching university.

AIG Service Award

AIG has instituted a service award for outstanding service by a member to the Institute.  This is intended to be a prestigious recognition of outstanding service to AIG and its members that will be awarded occasionally by the AIG Council.  Nominations are welcome from members at any time.  A nomination form is available from the Secretariat office in Perth, in the next issue of AIG News and may also be downloaded from the web site soon.

AIG Complaints Process

AIG has a strong, enforceable Code of Ethics.  Our complaints process has recently been revised to improve the fairness and transparency of the process.  See the Codes pages for further details.
